Drum Scraper Dryer

A continuous drum scraper dryer. A thin film of liquid or paste dries on a heated drum and a blade scrapes it off.

Overview

A thin film, dried in seconds

The HG drum scraper dryer is rotating continuous drying equipment with internal heat conduction. A film of material adheres to the drum from the trough under it. Heat passes through the drum wall into the film and evaporates the moisture.

The dried product is scraped off by a blade on the drum surface and falls to the screw conveyor under the blade, which carries it away to be collected and packed.

  1. Coat

The rotating drum picks up a film of material from the trough below it.

  2. Dry

Heat passes through the drum wall into the film and evaporates the moisture.

  3. Scrape

A blade removes the dried product, and a screw conveyor carries it away.

Features

Heat goes straight into the film

Feed concentration, film thickness, medium temperature and drum speed can each be adjusted.

  1. High thermal efficiency

Heat moves by conduction in one direction, so apart from cover loss and radiation the heat evaporates the film. Thermal efficiency reaches 70 to 80%.

  2. Flexible

The feed concentration, film thickness, heating medium temperature and drum speed can be adjusted, and they do not depend on each other.

  3. Short drying time

The drying cycle is generally only 10 to 300 seconds, which suits heat-sensitive material. The dryer can also run under vacuum.

  4. High drying rate

The film is thin, generally 0.3 to 1.5 mm, so the surface keeps evaporating 20 to 70 kg H₂O per m² per hour.

  5. Continuous output

Dried product drops onto a screw conveyor and is collected and packed.

  6. Nine sizes

Roller sizes from Φ600×800 mm to Φ1800×2000 mm.

Questions

Before you order

What is a rotary drum dryer?

The HG drum scraper dryer is a rotating, continuous dryer with internal heat conduction. A thin film of liquid or paste dries on a heated drum, and a blade scrapes the dried product off.

How does a drum dryer work?

The rotating drum picks up a film of material from the trough below it. Heat passes through the drum wall into the film and evaporates the moisture. A blade removes the dried product, and a screw conveyor carries it away.

How efficient is it?

Heat moves by conduction in one direction, so thermal efficiency reaches 70 to 80 percent. The usual drying cycle is 10 to 300 seconds, and capacity is 40 to 630 kg/h.
