Overview

Press, crush, sift

The GK dry granulator suits material that fears damp and heat. A screw feeder pushes powder between two vertically arranged rollers on cantilever shafts. The pressed sheet is crushed and sifted in two levels.

The machine is closed. A PLC with touch screen is optional.

  1. Feed

A vertical screw feeder pushes powder into the rollers.

  2. Compact

Two rollers press it into a sheet under set pressure.

  3. Sift

The sheet is crushed and sifted in two levels. Fines return.

Questions

Before you order

What is dry granulation?

It is granulation with no liquid binder. In the GK, a screw feeder pushes powder between two rollers, which press it into a sheet. The sheet is crushed and sifted in two levels, and fines return.

Which is better, dry or wet granulation?

It depends on the material. The GK dry granulator suits material that fears damp and heat, because dry compaction means no wetting and no drying. For other material, our wet granulators use a liquid binder.

What is roller compaction granulation?

Two rollers on cantilever shafts, arranged vertically, press the powder into a sheet under set pressure. The sheet is then crushed and sifted into granules.

What are the advantages of the dry granulation method?

No binder liquid is needed, so there is no wetting and no drying. The machine is closed to keep dust under control, a variable frequency drive sets the speed, and a PLC with touch screen is optional.
