Overview
Large heat area in a small body
The KJG hollow blade dryer indirectly heats or cools paste, granule, powder and slurry. It can complete drying, cooling, heating, sterilizing, reacting and low temperature combustion.
Wedge-shaped hollow blades are densely arranged on a hollow shaft, and the heating or cooling medium flows through them. The wedge surface cleans itself as the material moves across it.
Heat
The medium flows through the hollow shaft and blades. The medium temperature can run from -40 ℃ to 320 ℃.
Stir
The blades push and release the material, so it keeps contact with the heat transfer surface.
Self-clean
The sliding material scrubs the wedge surface, so the heat transfer surface stays clean.

Features
Little heat lost, steady running
Indirect heating needs no carrying air, so little heat is lost.
Low energy use
Indirect heating needs no large flow of carrying air. With the insulated shell, evaporating 1 kg of water from slurry needs only 1.2 kg of steam.
Compact
The heat transfer surface per unit volume is large, which shortens the processing time and reduces the size of the equipment.
Fits many materials
Different heat media suit heat-sensitive material and material that needs high temperature. Common media are steam, thermal oil, hot water and cooling water.
Continuous or batch
It can run continuously or intermittently.
Clean running
No carrying air means very little dust is carried out. A closed loop can be used for contaminated material or solvent recovery.
Low wear
Wear is low and upkeep is cheap, because the wedge blades compress and expand the material as they stir.

What is a paddle dryer?
The KJG hollow blade dryer is a paddle dryer with indirect heating, for paste, granule, powder and slurry. Wedge-shaped hollow blades carry the heating or cooling medium.
How does a paddle dryer work?
The medium flows through the hollow shaft and blades, with a temperature from -40 to 320 °C. The blades push and release the material so it keeps contact with the heat transfer surface, and the sliding material scrubs the wedge surface clean.
Which type of dryer is best?
It depends on the material. The KJG suits paste, granule, powder and slurry, and indirect heating needs no carrying air. Evaporating 1 kg of water from slurry needs only 1.2 kg of steam. For other material, see our eleven dryer types.
