Overview
Granulate and dry in one closed bed
In the FL fluid bed granulator, powder is lifted by hot air and a nozzle sprays binder onto it. The particles stick together into granules and dry in the same bed.
The whole process is closed. A three dimensional oblique discharge empties the bowl, and the machine meets GMP.
Fluidize
Hot air lifts the powder in the bowl.
Spray
A nozzle sprays binder, and the powder forms granules.
Dry
The granules dry in the same bed and leave by oblique discharge.

How does a fluid bed granulator work?
Hot air lifts the powder in the bowl, and a nozzle sprays binder onto it. The particles stick together into granules, which dry in the same bed and leave by three dimensional oblique discharge.
What is a fluidized bed used for?
The FL uses it to mix, granulate and dry in one bed. The whole process is closed, which protects the product and the operator, and the machine meets GMP.
How is wet granulation done?
In the FL, a peristaltic pump feeds binder to a spray nozzle that sprays it onto powder held in the air stream. Granules form and dry in the same bed. Our GHL high shear wet mixing granulator does it in a closed cylinder instead.
